The One Night Stand

I find it strange that the reputation of the one night stand has been placed on the firm shoulders of men, because what people fail to realize is that it actually takes a woman (in most cases) to complete the ingredients. It takes two to share in the experience and since we both participate in this activity, I thought I would lay down some ground rules to follow.

One night stands come in different forms.  Some can be mutually agreed upon but for the most part, there’s one person hoping for something more as well as a phone call the next day. The beginnings of a one night stand generally begin at a social gathering like a house party, barbeque, or bar. Two people generally meet or meet up again from a previous introduction and the conversation generally turns to, “What are you doing afterwards?” At this point is when you put the rules into action.

Rule #1 Always Drive Yourself

Before you answer the, “What are you doing afterwards” question, you should already have it in your mind that you will be driving in your car and they will be driving in their car if the hook up is made. When the one night stand is over, they can leave your place without you driving them home across town, or if you’re at their place, you can leave as soon as you’re ready.

Rule #2 Go to Their Place

It’s no secret that it’s 100 times easier to leave someone’s place than it is to get someone to leave your place. If one night is all they’re getting from you, then you certainly don’t want them hanging around in the morning at your house.  Spend the night at their residents so you can leave as soon as the sun hits your eyes.

Rule #3 Be Safe

You have to use your best judgment when letting someone in your home or when you’re being taken to someone’s home that you just met. Let a friend know where you are, and for women, preferably you should know a little history on the guy before putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation.

Rule #4 Use Protection

Please! Please! Please! Use protection! The last thing you want to do is end up with something that you can’t get rid of…….like a kid, or a nasty STD. Did I mention a kid? People that have one night stands aren’t necessarily using the best judgment (Yes, I’m talking about you) and more times than not, this isn’t the first time. Protection is your best friend in any one night stand situation.

Rule #5 Now’s the Time to Experiment

I can’t think of a better time to experiment with new positions and with things you’ve seen in the latest porn videos.  You can generally get pretty nasty with a one night stand without any guilt involved. You can even break out that new toy you got for your birthday!

Rule #6 Be Courteous

As with any departure, thank them for a wonderful night and tell them have a nice day.  It’s the least you can do.
